Sound of music Sharmistha Banerjee is an accomplished vocal artiste with a MS degree in Economics and she has also studied graphic design, art and photography. Encouraged from an early age to learn classical music, Banerjee started taking lessons from Shrimati Ruby Bhattacharya and then from Pundit Vindhya Prasad Gaur. She is also trained in Nazrul geeti (from the late Prafulla Kumar Sengupta). For eight years Banerjee was a vocal artist on All India Radio, Patna. The founder of Taraana Music has performed extensively across North America and Canada and is currently settled in Oldsmar, Florida.
