Man killed in road mishap
KOLKATA, 18 JAN: A 54-year-old man was killed after being hit by a truck on Khagen Chatterjee Street near Chitpur this morning. Police said, Dr Samir Chowdhury was killed while crossing the road. The truck driver, however, is at large. Local residents staged an agitation demanding the arrest of the truck driver. SNS

KOLKATA, 18 JAN: Entry of visitors into the terminals of NSC Bose airport has been banned for security reasons. The ban, which has already been put into effect, will continue till 31 January. The ban has been put into effect to further strengthen security measures, it was officially learnt today. SNS
Robbery
KOLKATA, 18 JAN: A gang of goons entered a residence near Alipore Central Correctional Home yesterday and decamped with cash worth Rs 15,000.  Police said the goons  entered the residence of Mr Kausik Pal, deputy jailor of Alipore Central Correctional Home and decamped with cash worth Rs 15,000. No one has been arrested in this connection. SNS
