KOLKATA, 30 NOV: Anticipatory bail was granted to former Government College of Art and Craft teacher-in-charge Ms Dipali Bhattacharya by a Division Bench of Mr Justice Asim Roy and Mr Justice Joymalya Bagchi of Calcutta High Court today.
This was in connection with a Public Interest Litigation alleging that she was involved in the exhibition of some allegedly fake Rabindranath Tagore paintings.
The report of an expert committee to probe the authenticity of the paintings was placed before the Division Bench of acting Chief Justice Pratap Roy and Mr Justice Subal Baidya during the day.
Eminent artist K G Subramaniam declined to join the five-member committee, leading to the report being signed by four members, Mr Kaushik Chanda submitted.
