KOLKATA, 4 DEC: A breach of privilege motion against West Bengal minister Becharam Manna for his alleged derogatory remarks against the judiciary will be placed in the Assembly during the winter session beginning from 7 December.
“We have received a privilege notice from CPI-M member Abdur Rezzak Mollah, which will be placed in the House on 10 December,” Speaker Biman Banerjee said here today. Seven Bills are likely to be placed in the House during the session from 7 to 13 December, he said.
To a question, the Speaker said he had not received any resignation letter from Statistics Minister Rabindranath Bhattacharya who has been sulking since being shunted to a less important portfolio more than a week ago.
Some non-government motions are likely to come up on last day of the session on demand by opposition leaders, the Speaker said.
The Speaker earlier convened an all-party meeting at which government chief whip Sobhandeb Chattopadhyay, who has protested alleged assault on him by rival Trinamul Congress members, was present.
