According to police, the incident took place at around 9 pm this evening, when 50-year-old Raj, after shutting down his office in Palam, was about to leave for Vasant Kunj area where he lived with his family.
After Raj came out of his office, some unidentified persons, who probably were waiting for him, arrived in front of his office after which a heated argument ensued between them. Soon after this, the argument turned ugly and one of the assailants whipped out a pistol from his pocket and trained on Raj.
According to a source, fearing to be shot from the point blank range, Raj tried to flee but the assailant, fired around five round bullets out of which two bullets hit Raj and he collapsed on the road. Thereafter, the assailants managed to flee the spot, leaving behind Raj lying in a pool of blood.

Meanwhile, a PCR call was made by Raj's associate and a team of police rushed the spot. The area was cordoned off by the police to investigate the matter.
Police said that they have started investigating the case but have not recorded the statement of the victim as his condition is stated to be critical by the doctors. Meanwhile, sources said that it could be a case of property dispute. Raj, who lives At Vasant Kunj area, has a Property Dealing business in Palam area. Raj is also associated with Delhi Pradesh BJP as the Vice President of Media Wing.
